Fletchers Inaugural Auction Competition

For a 94 year old company, it is not often we can say “this is the first time we have done…” – but last night we were able to say, “welcome to Fletchers Inaugural Auction Competition!”
A terrific night attended by many of our staff members and hosted by REIV accredited auctioneer, Phil de Fegely, it was a fantastic opportunity for both our budding and senior auctioneers to showcase their talents.
We would like to congratulate our competitors who all did an outstanding job:
- Novice: Todd Lucas, Tori McGregor, Daniel O’Regan and Sue Woollard
- Senior: Mark Fletcher, Troy Nelson, Ben Williams, Jeremy Tyrrell, Jeremy Desmier and Tim Heavyside
At the end of the night, there were two standing slightly taller than the rest…both winners from our Eltham Office. Congratulations to our:
- Inaugural Novice Auctioneer of the Year: Daniel O’Regan
- Inaugural Senior Auctioneer of the Year: Jeremy Tyrrell (the reigning REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year)

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 73 per cent over the weekend, compared to 60 per cent on the same weekend last year. Fletchers clearance rate was 88 per cent, well above industry average.
Fletchers achieved great results this weekend selling 14 out of the 16 properties auctioned, with many going under the hammer for prices well above reserve.
Fletchers Director, Tim Heavyside sold six out of the six properties he had scheduled for auction, including the four unit development at 84 Winfield Road in Balwyn North. The units were auctioned consecutively from 11am and all sold under the hammer – the vendors were rapt!
29 Boisdale Street in Surrey Hills was the highest sale for the day and an extremely impressive result. Boasting a variety of flexible spaces, this five bedroom family home offers the opportunity to move in immediately while considering future renovation or extension. This property sold for $215,000 over reserve, pleasing the owners immensely.
The exquisite 1967 residence at 30-34 Serpells Road in Templestowe allows you to step back from the rush of city living and enjoy 1.25 acres (approx) of lush gardens and leafy views…don’t forget the stable for your horse! Ideal for renovation or a new luxury home, three bidders fought to secure this property, which sold for $130,000 above reserve. This unique home was another pleasing sale for Jason Salan and the Manningham team.
On sale for the very first time, the three bedroom 1945 weatherboard home at 2 Duncan Street in Box Hill South is enviably located just metres to Kingswood College, Roberts McCubbin Primary School, local shops and Box Hill Golf Course. This home is in excellent original condition featuring a North-facing lounge room with open fireplace and lush gardens. This property was another to go under the hammer for an incredible price, selling for $106,000 above reserve.
Occupying a corner block in the heart of Blackburn, the 1950s cream brick home at 9 Railway Road has been family owned and occupied for 47 years and presented an outstanding opportunity for living, leasing or redevelopment (STCA). The competing five bidders recognised this great opportunity, pushing this property to sell for just above $68,000 over reserve.

Many of our staff attended Australian Real Estate Conference (AREC) on the Gold Coast over the past couple of days. CEO and Director Bradley Brown commented that AREC had a lot of engaging content and some positive reinforcements for the staff members that attended.
