Rural vs. Developed: Find Both with Doreen Real Estate

July 28th 2011

Unique is the only word that can be used to describe Doreen real estate. While other Melbourne suburbs have proceeded with urban development to take advantage of a growing population density, Doreen is split into two distinct parts. In one portion of the city development has proceeded and the overall population has expanded to 3,451 with most of that being contained in the developed section. The remaining part of Doreen is still entirely rural.

The urban development of Doreen has focused on the concept of “semi-rural” offering the benefits of rural life with an easy commute to the city. The other residential areas are predominantly nurseries and residential estates. This dichotomy makes the area completely unique among Melbourne suburbs. Doreen real estate offers a real choice between developed and rural all within the same town. Excellent local schools, expanding shopping options and fabulous views make Doreen an ideal place to raise a family, retire or simply enjoy life.

Buy Rural Living at its Best When You Purchase Montmorency Real Estate

July 26th 2011

Sometimes a longer commute is worth the peace and quiet of a truly rural environment. With Montmorency real estate you join a community of less than 8,200 people in the entire county and only 3,100 people in the township itself. The small population means that the area is very rural and offers all the community comforts that go along with rural living. Neighbours take the time to meet each other and courtesy that is so often lost in the cities is alive and well in the rural areas.

Montmorency real estate is located just 17 km north-east of Melbourne making it a reasonable commute by train at 45 min. By auto the commute is much less and two bus lines also service the area. The longer train commute time can be a negative for some, but for many is actually a plus. A morning and evening commute gives you time to relax on the way into work and put aside the stress of the day on your way home so that you can enjoy the rural atmosphere.

When You Buy St. Helena Real Estate You Buy Into a Community

July 25th 2011

When new families start looking for a more permanent residence one of the first places they look is the suburbs. Suburbs offer all the benefits of the city in easy commuting distance along with all the benefits of rural areas. St. Helena real estate offers the best of both worlds. It is primarily a residential area with over 3,000 inhabitants. This small population offers the ability to know your neighbours and let your children grow up in that small town atmosphere that helps create well adjusted adults.

Getting to know your neighbours can be difficult in an urban environment where populations are often highly mobile. Renters do not invest in an area the way that property owners do. Property owners are interested in maintaining their property to keep things nice and their investment value high. Renters have no reason to maintain a property as they reap none of the benefits of property ownership. St. Helena real estate is predominantly single family homes with owners that have a vested interest in maintaining the area, with families, making it a very community oriented town.

Watsonia Real Estate is a Prime Location for Families

July 25th 2011

A first time home purchase is a big decision. Deciding on the area to raise a family is even bigger. If you are considering a family home purchase Watsonia real estate may be the perfect place for you. The local military base helps keep the crime rate very low and the easy 16 km commute to Melbourne lets you have access to the larger job market in the urban area. Watsonia was originally owned by the Wurundjeri people and was named after the first property developer, Frank Watson.

The area remained predominantly rural even after the addition of the railway station that was purchased by local landowners in 1924. Even after the railway opened, the area did not really start to expand until the 1940s when Watsonia real estate property values started to become affordable. Now, Watsonia is considered a Melbourne suburb since expansion of the Melbourne urban area has pushed development out further and reduced the surrounding rural areas.
